Women’s Resource Center (WRC) Announced as New Community Partner

Junior League of Grand Rapids (JLGR) is excited to announce its partnership with Women’s Resource Center (WRC) as a strategic move in its commitment to fostering women’s health and development within the community.

After a comprehensive review of its focus areas in 2022 and 2023, JLGR has shifted its primary focus from children’s physical health to the broader spectrum of women’s health and development. This decision is grounded in community data and aligns with JLGR’s dedication to addressing the evolving needs of the Grand Rapids community.

The Women’s Resource Center, a distinguished organization with a rich history of empowering women, will join JLGR as a community partner in advancing initiatives that promote women’s wellbeing and workplace success. WRC’s mission, which resonates strongly with JLGR’s renewed focus, is centered around providing resources, support, and advocacy by empowering women for professional achievement.

Through this partnership, JLGR and WRC aim to collaborate on various initiatives that contribute to the advancement of women’s development in Grand Rapids. This includes but is not limited to educational programs, mentorship opportunities, community engagement events, and initiatives promoting women’s physical health, mental wellness, and professional development.

Jessica Bernhardt, President of Junior League of Grand Rapids, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Our decision to partner with Women’s Resource Center aligns with our commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of women in our community. By combining our strengths and resources, we believe we can create positive and lasting change.”

WRC Director of Development & Communications, Tatum Hawkins, welcomed the partnership, stating, “We are honored to be working with Junior League of Grand Rapids as a community partner. Together, we have the opportunity to empower and uplift women, fostering a community where they can thrive and reach their full potential.”

This collaboration marks an exciting chapter for both organizations, as they work hand in hand to address the evolving needs of the Grand Rapids community and make a lasting impact on the lives of women.
