In February 2024, Junior League of Grand Rapids and Women’s Resource Center announced a new community partnership aimed at advancing women’s health and development in the Grand Rapids community. By joining forces, JLGR and WRC seek to leverage their combined expertise, resources, and passion to make a lasting impact on the lives of women and girls. See Press Release Here.

About Women’s Resource Center (WRC):

Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is a leading organization in Grand Rapids dedicated to empowering women and girls to reach their full potential. Established in 1973, WRC provides resources, support and advocacy to enhance the lives of women in the community. Through a range of programs and services, WRC strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society where women can thrive.

Key Initiatives:

• Educational Programs: Collaborate on educational initiatives to provide women with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the workplace and beyond.
• Mentorship Opportunities: Facilitate mentorship programs to connect women with experienced professionals who can provide guidance and support in their career journeys.
• Community Engagement Events: Host community events and workshops focused on topics such as leadership development, financial literacy, and wellness to empower women to lead fulfilling lives.
• Advocacy and Awareness: Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote gender equality and raise awareness about women’s issues within the Grand Rapids community.
• Physical Health, Mental Well-being, and Development Initiatives: Partner on initiatives to address women’s health and well-being, including access to healthcare, mental health support, and resources for self-care.
• Research, Data Collection and Success Metric Tracking: Collaborate on research projects to identify key challenges and opportunities for women’s development in Grand Rapids, informing evidence-based strategies and solutions.
